This year, AltaMed Food and Wine Festival’s East LA Meets Napa is proud to celebrate the rich history and flavors of Argentina!
Argentina is the largest wine producer in South America and the fifth largest in the world. It is best known for its versions of classic red wines including Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Argentine wines are considered New World wines but actually have a rich history dating back more than 400 years. Winemaking practices were spread throughout Argentina—as they would be in California—by Spanish missionaries planting grapes to ensure a supply of sacramental wines. Join us at East LA Meets Napa as we proudly celebrate the wine, cuisine and culture of Argentina!
